Dr. Yu was born and raised in China before moving to the U.S. to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University at Buffalo, he went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in Canada, graduating in 2024. Having recently relocated to Chicago, Dr. Yu is excited to serve the local pet community with compassionate, personalized, and high-quality veterinary care.
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and American Sign Language, he strives to make veterinary care more accessible to diverse pet owners.
Outside of work, Dr. Yu enjoys exploring Chicago’s food scene with his partner, as well as spending time with their cat, Cruella, and their adolescent puppy, Affogato.
